When I was in my teenage years, I was such a boring person that I never cared about Valentines day. My friends instead was busily spending moollaaahs to buy flowers to give to their seniors ie. pet sisters. (we were from a girl's school and this was pretty common those days.) Then when I started having few pet sisters of my own, I did sent them cards. Then again, it was not such a big deal for me. To me Valentines day can be any other day that you can celebrate with your love ones.
Back then, our Interact club joined forces with other schools around Klang Valley and decided to sell candies, flowers and cards to the students. The students will then buy the merchandise and send them to their friends, pet sisters, girlfriends or boyfriends from other schools. I remember those days during Valentines Day. I wonder if they still do that now days.
But there was one year that shocked me. I received a card and some candies from a guy in another school. Honestly, I never expected that coming at all. But it was nice of him to remember me by sending the card and candy. I wonder what happened to him. Last I heard, he's happily married. Nice.
Anyway, through out the years of my college and working days, Valentines day was pretty much a normal day to day for me. (I was such a workaholic midget) I did received flowers few times and some nice gifts and that was it. (Ok, so maybe some cheap dinner with some friends.)
Now that I'm married, we don't really celebrate it in a big way because we feel that it's a waste of moooolllaaahs. Everything on Valentines Day costs double here in Malaysia. Forget about the flowers. They are extremely expensive and it's not worth buying. It's nice when you receive flowers, chocolates and candies during Valentines day from your love ones or secret admirers. Yeah, it's sweet and romantic. But showing your love for someone you love can be any other day. Right?...Don't you think so??
I suppose I can admit that this year's Valentines day for us was on 2nd February. *wide grin* My dearest and dead broke hubby (money spent in Singapore for family vacation and soon for the spiritual trip) bought me a gorgeous Thomas Sabo charm bracelet that I've been eyeing(sp) for a while. And I'm loving it!! Hehehehe... Thanks sweetheart. *smoochh smoochh*
So anyway, to those who plan to celebrate Valentines Day and get laid *wide grin* hehehehe... have a good one!! Don't forget condoms and be careful not to get caught yah!!! Hotels and romantic candle light dinner don't come cheap as you all know!! Hehehehehehehehehehehehe....
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ya all!!
